Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a procedure used to flatten the stomach. As a result of weight gain and/or pregnancy, the muscles and tissues of the abdomen stretch and sag. This loose tissue can be removed, tightened, and repositioned to create a flat-looking stomach. Depending on the condition of the skin elasticity, the amount of fat accumulation, and the degree of muscle relaxation, variations on the procedure can be applied.
Dr. Khoury will perform the procedure in the comfort of his surgical suite with the patient under I.V. sedation anesthesia. A short incision is made at the pubic hairline allowing for underlying muscles to be tightened and excess skin to be redraped and removed. This will eliminate the bulge of the stomach and improve stretch marks. Sutures are removed in 10 to 14 days and a support garment is worn for several weeks after the procedure.
